(:nofootmenu:)

We are very proud of Alexander, our up and coming stud boy. Have a look at his stats!!! (These have now been updated with his November 2006 fleece, aged 4 years, which are showing minimal tendency for blow out)
His AGE Breeding Value places him in the top 3% of alpacas for the Fibre Diameter trait

As he was white and we were concentrating on breeding coloured alpacas, we pretty much ignored Alex and took all our more unusual animals to the shows. It was only when his half brother won our first Championship ribbon and we were driving home from that show in a state of elation, that Gay commented that Alex's fleece was even better than the boy who had won the Championship that day, with Alex being a year older. We decided to have another good look at Lallybroch Alexander! The rest is history.
Alexander has taken out Senior Championships twice in the summer of 2006. He has rounded out his 2006 show appearances at the Whangarei Show in December winning the First Place ribbon in the Senior Huacaya Composite class for white and light fawn alpacas. This is an unusually prestigous win for Alexander as the show marked the first time alpacas have competed at the Whangarei A&P Society's Summer Show. It was also an innovation for the Alpaca Association NZ to run a show under Composite competition rules in which the newly shorn alpacas and their fleeces are judged with points scores from those two separate results then being combined to arrive at the Composite placings. As this was a pilot run of judging rules for a new type of competition it was run as a special case without any provision for awarding Championship Ribbons. At Whangarei 2006 Alexander delivered the HIGHEST COMPOSITE SCORE OF ANY ALPACA exhibited.
Alexander has also achieved excellent Breeding Value ratings in AGE so he is now enjoying life as our top stud boy. His fleece is wonderful to handle, being both fine and very crimpy. He has a magnificent topknot, so huge that he is known by our neighbour's kids as the "Cool Guy with the Afro."
We're not (yet) claiming that he's Alexander The Great but we do rate him as Alexander The Pretty Darn Good!

His first cria, Lallybroch Aloysius a fine solid white boy, was born on 4th November 2006. He has nine further progeny due during 2007.
Alexander's services are available for matings on farm at Lallybroch for a fee of $1,000 plus GST
For mobile matings from Warkworth and to the north his fee is $1,000 plus GST. For matings south of Warkworth his fee is $1,100 plus GST
